The things I
have learnt going from the preliminary task to doing my final music magazine
are the colour scheme is very important because this brings the full magazine
together. The colours you choose is also important because the colour have to represent
the type of magazine you are portraying and what type of audience will buy your
magazine. The colours are also the thing what is meant to attract the audience
because that is the first thing they look at. Another important thing I have
learnt is the main front picture of your magazine is key to attracting people
to read your magazine. I learned about what types of shots are the best for the
front of a magazine like the close up is good and also the medium shot is good
and to make sure that there is not a lot of blank space above the person you
are taking the picture of. Another thing I have learnt is how to use Photoshop
more effectively and how to use most of the tools right. Also using a lot of
stories is good because it keeps the front cover interesting and that there is
a lot more too look at. Another thing I have learnt is that the feature stories
needs to stand out more than all of the other stories this is because it is
most likely to be your double page spread what is one of the biggest stories in
a magazine. I have found the preliminary task very useful to see how much I
have developed and what I have learned doing this course.

Evaluation question 2
First I
wanted to choose a colour scheme based on what genre I choose and that was pop
so I needed more girly colours. Then I made a mood board of what things girls
like and what should be included in my magazine. After that I choose my target
audience that was teenaged girls this is because they are the ones what mainly
buy magazines and they will most likely have their parents pay for it or have a
part time job. This means that my magazine had to be an affordable price but
still fit things in what my target audience will want. My magazine contains
things about all of the pop stars people want to hear about including Justin Bieber
and Bruno Mars. It also contains competitions and free things inside what is
good for my target audience.
My social
group is Girls they like girly things, girly colours, Music, Social networking,
gossip and boys. The girl would be
teenagers and they like free things, gossip, concerts, social networking and
things online. Since they are teenagers they price had to be cheap so I put it
at £1 this is so they person could afford it by them self’s but it also is not too
expensive for the parent to buy for them.
On the
social class table my audience is either and D or an E this is depending on if
the child buying the magazine has a job or if their parents are giving them
money to buy the magazine.
